International conference dedicated to the 400 years anniversary of the House of Romanov will take place in Perm
International academic and research conference “The Romanov Dynasty in culture and art of Russia and Eastern Europe: history and the current state” will take place in Perm during September 17 – 19. The conference is divided into two sections. The Section “The Romanov Dynasty in culture and art of Russia and Eastern Europe: history and the current state” will be placed at the Gorky City Library. The part of the exhibition “The Romanov Dynasty in the history of Russia and Perm Krai” will be opened on September 17 at the Pushkin History Museum in Cherdyn.
Rich cultural program should be expected at this year conference, it includes visiting all the Romanov-related places in Perm and Nyrob. Historical open-air theatre «Nyrob prisoner» will present a play. Performing artists from the Yekaterinburg State Opera and Ballet House will perform a part from the famous opera by M. Glinka «Life for the tsar». Bell-ringing festival “Memory Bells” and a tour to the “Mikhail Romanov memorial center” will be organized to the conference participants.
An internet-round table will be organized, so that the participants in Perm could listen to the reports and communicate ideas with the scholars from France, Germany, Latvia, USA, Uzbekistan and some Russian cities.
Perm City Art Gallery has prepared a large exhibition project, dedicated to the anniversary of the House of Romanov. The project is called “The house of Romanov. Four centuries of Russian culture” and consists from three separate exhibitions, showing unique and rare pieces from the 18th – early 20th century, such as icons, graphic works, fine art, sculpture and the 17th – 21st century jewelry.
